The U.S. Chamber’s Africa Business Initiative (ABI), in partnership with the African Union (AU), will host a forum with senior officials from both the United States and African Union countries. The event will feature a discussion on a new AU report titled, “Invest in Africa 2014.” The report features in-depth analysis of the multiple investment opportunities across various industrial sectors – including finance and banking, oil and gas, transport, agriculture, infrastructure, ICT, education and healthcare – and looks at past and present investment deals and international trade partnerships that the AU has forged, including those with the European Union and the U.S. The Chamber’s Vice President for African Affairs Scott Eisner and ABI Co-Chair Ambassador Donald Gips will be joined by AU Ambassador to the U.S. Amina Ali, UN Global Impact Head of Transparency & Anti-Corruption Initiatives Olajobi Makinwa, News Desk Media CEO Paul Duffen, and AU Regional Ambassador’s Deans for East and West Africa.
